Five Summer Latinx Musical Festivals To Show Up At
It’s no Summer, if you don’t head out to enjoy a music festival event! Live music, dancing, cerveza or a michelada and if it’s an outdoor event – grub to street meat, elotes or fruta on-a-stick, and you are set!
Latinx pride, resilience and persistence of cultural preservation only gets stronger as we rise in the face of attacks to our communities. One way to do that – is through celebrations of one’s own culture!
Here is a list of our favorite Latinx celebrations coast-to-cast this Summer –
Latin Alternative Music Festival-New York
Latinx who edge toward alternative music styles can enjoy some of the offsite events held by LAMF, the biggest event for cutting-edge Latin music held in New York City, July 9 – 13th.
AfroLatino Festival – New York
Held in Brooklyn, New York…one the biggest by scale celebrations of Afro-Latinidad. Cultural awareness and social justice are at the root of the Afro-Latino Festival. Going strong since 2013, expect programming to be off-the-hook as usual, July 12-13th.

Festival Latino – Ohio
The middle of America is growing in its Latino population, its no wonder we are seeing a surge of Latinx events pop up on our radar. Festival Latino is one in Colombus, Ohio held August 10 – 11th.
Viva Music Festival – Pomona, California
Down in Los Angeles county, is the town of Pomona and a thriving Latinx culture that celebrates its up and coming Latinx artists from August 24 – 25th.

¡ESO ES! Tour – Texas
Starting August 29 in Houston ending September 1st in San Antonio, Texas y’all! Dubbed a ‘mini-festival’ bringing that vibe across Texas. Empress Of, La Goony Chonga, Bidi Bidi Banda, Luna Luna, XANAXFANCLUB and LZRCAT will be followed by each city’s local, unique Latinx artists and DJs.
