Latinas Made History With Rolling Stone Cover Story Featuring Bad Bunny
Rolling Stone magazine’s June cover story, ‘Bad Bunny in Captivity’ made magazine history! Bad Bunny who just days ago on Mother’s Day, dropped ten new songs while in cuarentena gives Rolling Stone readers a glimpse into how he has been spending his quarantine time in an Airbnb. The Bad Bunny cover story was brought to you by Latinas who made history with this project as well, as the first Latinas to work on a Rolling Stone cover story ever.
The process for this was WILD. I interviewed Tainy in Miami, then planned to meet Benito in San Juan — until the island got shut down. I stayed here with my abuela and spent the next two months writing from her balcony. Learn more in our editor’s letter:https://t.co/kq5pmsdRAi

Here at BoldLatina, we have covered Latinas breaking ground, trailblazing as the ‘the Firsts’ so when we heard Rolling Stone Latin music editor Suzy Exposito who wrote the cover story and jewelry designer, gabriela Berlingeri (Bad Bunny’s bae) became the first Latina to shoot a cover for the legacy magazine in its 50+ year of publishing — we were ecstatic.
Bad Bunny at only 26 years old has reached iconic stardom in just a few short years, starting with 2018, his breakout year. In 2019 he landed a Grammy nomination for “Record Of The Year” with “I Like It.” alongside established fellow Latin pop culture stars,J Balvin and CardiB. Ever since then, Bad Bunny’s musical and video innovation has kept him at the top of Urbano charts. Given Puerto Rico’s struggles over the past few years, Bad Bunny became more politically vocal which has won him over in his native Puerto Rico. Bad Bunny is down for nuestra gente for sure!
From stage to Instagram Lives, Bad Bunny takes over, days prior to his newest project released on Mother’s Day, he held a 3-hour epic Instagram Live, the longest-held Live the most any celebrity artist has done. Bad Bunny doesn’t fail to surprise us!
In his Rollingstone interview, he stated he was working on his acting debut on Netflix’s ‘Narcos: Mexico’ when the COVID-19 Pandemic hit. “Maybe I needed the rest!” Bad Bunny says in his interview.
With all the genius coming out of Bad Bunny lately, he’s entitled to a break.
